Grading scales vary by institution, so confirm the weighting your school or board actually uses.
Because it runs locally, results appear instantly with no server round-trip.
Worked example
For grades A (4.0, 3 cr) and B (3.0, 3 cr): GPA = (4.0×3 + 3.0×3) ÷ 6 = 3.5.
FAQ
Which grade scale is used for letters?
Letter grades use a 4.0 scale (A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, B=3.0, and so on). If you enter numeric grade points instead, they are used exactly as typed.
Does the GPA Calculator send my data to a server?
No. The GPA Calculator runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript; the values you enter never leave your device and nothing is uploaded or saved.
Can I mix letters and numbers?
Yes. Each line can be a letter grade or a numeric grade point, paired with credits; the tool maps letters and keeps numbers as given.
Is the GPA weighted by credits?
Yes. Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credits and divided by total credits, so heavier courses influence the GPA more.
