Cement Calculator
Cement Calculator is a browser-based calculator tool on CalcToolsBase. Free, browser-based Cement Calculator. Enter your values for an instant, clearly-labelled result - no signup, no uploads. To use it, enter your values and view the result directly in your browser — no signup and nothing to install.
From your length, width, depth and mix ratio, Cement Calculator computes the number of cement bags via the mix ratio and volume. No accounts, no uploads — just an instant way to estimate cement bags.
Estimate only — not engineering or structural advice. Volume and quantity depend on the dimensions you enter and the product's yield or density; allow for spillage and over-ordering and confirm the mix with your supplier.
About this calculator
Use the Cement Calculator to estimate cement bags. It reads your length, width, depth and mix ratio, computes the number of cement bags with the mix ratio and volume, and shows the result clearly labelled. Because the calculation happens in your browser, your figures never leave the page and there is nothing to install.
How to use
- Enter the section length in feet.
- Enter the section width in feet.
- Enter the depth in inches and choose a mix ratio.
- Tap Calculate to see cement bags, sand, and aggregate.
Why use the Cement Calculator
Instant
Every quantity is worked out on your device the moment you tap Calculate.
Private
The numbers you enter stay in your browser and are never uploaded or saved.
Free
No signup, no paywall, and no ads placed inside your results.
Works offline
Once the page has loaded it keeps working on a weak or dropped connection.
Mobile-first
Laid out for phones and tablets on site just as much as for desktops.
Planning estimates
Results are simplified planning estimates; real material needs vary by product size, waste, layout, local codes, and site conditions, so confirm before you buy or build.
Common uses
Cement when ordering by cubic yard or metre or by bag
Cement when planning a footing or path
Cement when budgeting a pour
Cement for site and slab preparation
Cement for estimating concrete, cement or asphalt volume
Cement for contractor and client quotes
Technical notes
Cement Calculator estimates cement from the mix ratio and volume, converting to bags by weight per bag.
A volume estimate from the dimensions you enter; allow for settling, compaction or spillage and round up when ordering.
All arithmetic runs in your browser using double-precision floating point, so extreme inputs may show tiny rounding differences.
Worked example
To plaster 20 m² at 12 mm thickness with a 1:4 cement–sand mortar, the wet volume is 20 × 0.012 = 0.24 m³. Using a dry factor of ~1.27 the dry volume is ≈ 0.305 m³; cement is about 0.305 ÷ 5 ≈ 0.061 m³ ≈ 1.8 bags (50 kg ≈ 0.0347 m³) with ≈ 0.24 m³ of sand. Ratios and dry factors vary by site — example only.
FAQ
What does the mix ratio mean?
It is the proportion of cement to sand to aggregate, such as 1:2:4, used for a nominal mix.
Does the Cement Calculator keep my entries private?
Yes. The Cement Calculator runs in your browser, so nothing you enter is uploaded or saved.
Why is the volume multiplied by 1.54?
Dry materials compact when mixed with water, so a 1.54 factor converts wet volume to the dry volume needed.
How big is one cement bag here?
A cement bag is taken as 50 kilograms, which is treated as about 1.25 cubic feet of cement.
