Technical notes

Trip Cost Calculator works out fuel cost as distance ÷ fuel economy × fuel price, adds tolls and parking for the total, and divides by passengers for a per-person share when entered.

Estimates depend on the rates and distances you enter and ignore traffic, terrain and price changes.

Nothing you type is uploaded — the calculation happens entirely on your device.

Worked example

A 600 km trip at 15 km/L with fuel at 100/L uses 40 L = 4,000 in fuel, before tolls and food.

FAQ

How is the trip cost different from fuel cost?

Fuel cost covers fuel only. Trip cost adds tolls and parking and can split the total between passengers for a fuller picture.

What happens if I leave tolls or parking blank?

Blank tolls and parking are treated as zero, so the trip cost is just the fuel cost plus whatever extras you do enter.

How does the passenger split work?

The total cost is divided by the number of passengers you enter. Leave it blank or enter one to see the whole cost without splitting.

Are fuel prices and tolls in one currency?

Yes. Enter every money value in the same currency; the result is shown in that currency with no conversion.
