About this calculator
Use the Home Loan Calculator to work out the EMI on a home loan. It reads your home loan amount, annual interest rate and loan tenure, computes the monthly payment, total interest and a schedule with the reducing-balance EMI formula, and shows the result clearly labelled. Because the calculation happens in your browser, your figures never leave the page and there is nothing to install.
The EMI here is principal plus interest. A full housing cost may also include property tax, home insurance, and maintenance, which are not included.
How to use
- Enter the home loan amount.
- Enter the annual home loan interest rate.
- Enter the home loan tenure in years.
- Press Calculate to see your monthly home loan EMI.

Technical notes
Home Loan Calculator uses the standard reducing-balance EMI formula E = P·r·(1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n − 1), where r is the monthly rate and n the number of months.
Home loans may add processing fees, insurance and floating-rate resets that this estimate does not show.
Nothing you type is uploaded — the calculation happens entirely on your device.
FAQ
Is this the same as a mortgage payment?
The EMI here is principal plus interest. A full mortgage payment may also include property tax, home insurance, and maintenance, which are not included.
Why are home loan tenures so long?
Home loans are large, so long tenures (often 15–30 years) keep the EMI affordable — at the cost of much higher total interest.
Does prepayment reduce my home loan interest?
Yes. Prepaying reduces the outstanding principal, which lowers future interest and can shorten the tenure. This tool shows the base EMI without prepayments.
Does the Home Loan Calculator send my data to a server?
No. The Home Loan Calculator runs entirely in your browser — your inputs never leave your device, and nothing is uploaded or stored.
Worked example
A 3,000,000 home loan at 8.5% for 20 years (240 months): EMI = 26,034.7/month.
