Estimate only. Not financial, investment, tax, retirement, pension, crypto, or legal advice. Returns, rates, fees, taxes, inflation, market prices, product rules, and government schemes can change. Verify with official sources or a qualified professional before relying on results. Scheme figures (EPF, PPF, NPS, FD, RD, pension, retirement) use simplified assumptions about contributions, compounding, and rates; real scheme rules and declared rates vary by provider and year.

Technical notes

FD Calculator compounds the fixed-deposit principal at the annual rate you enter, compounded quarterly, to give the maturity value.

Compounds the principal at the annual rate you enter, compounded quarterly; it excludes any tax on the interest.

All arithmetic runs in your browser using double-precision floating point, so extreme inputs may show tiny rounding differences.

Worked example

A 100,000 fixed deposit at 7% for 3 years, compounded quarterly, matures at 100,000 × (1+0.07/4)12 = 123,143.93.

FAQ

How is fixed-deposit maturity calculated?

Interest compounds quarterly, so maturity equals deposit times (1 + rate/4) raised to four times the years, matching the usual cumulative-FD method.

Does the FD Calculator send my data to a server?

No. The FD Calculator runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript; the values you enter never leave your device and nothing is uploaded or saved.

Is fixed-deposit interest taxable?

Generally yes; interest on fixed deposits is usually taxable as income and a bank may deduct tax at source once interest crosses a threshold.

Why might my bank's maturity differ slightly?

Banks may use specific rounding or a different compounding convention, so a real deposit can vary a little from this estimate.
